Unless you have a medical reason, having proof of the COVID-19 vaccine is a requirement to attend our workshops. Nettelhorst Photography pros, guides, and staff are fully vaccinated. If you are medically unable to be vaccinated, you must bring a negative COVID test with you that is done not more than 72 hours from the start of the workshop. We ask that participants attending an event, upload proof of vaccination at least 12 hours prior to arrival
Depending on the location of the workshop or other reasons, you may be required to bring proof of a negative COVID-19 test with you. We will advise if this is the case. Also, as of December 6, 2021, all foreign nationals and returning US citizens will need to have a negative COVID-19 viral test (regardless of vaccination status or citizenship) no more than 1 day before you travel by air into the United States. This means that if your flight to the US is at 10:00 PM on Wednesday, you can get the test done anytime starting at 12:01 AM on Tuesday. US Citizens can buy monitored self-test kits and perform the tests during this time window. Do note that these test kits are not the same as the ones you can buy in person at your local drug store.
Please be extra vigilant while traveling: practice good hand hygiene, use disinfectant wipes often, wash your hands as much as possible, and maintain social distancing as much as possible. Remember that traveling will be much different, so allow more time and be ready for long queues and differences with check-in and seating. Check for special policies and procedures in advance with your carriers, airports, and hotels.
We will have as few guests per vehicle as possible. In buses and vans, we will endeavor to have a seat open between guests.
As much as is practical and possible, we will maintain social distancing at mealtimes. Sometimes meals will be at restaurants, sometimes in our meeting rooms, and sometimes “on the run” while we are traveling.
All critiques will be in a room where social distancing can be maintained.
If someone exhibits symptoms of COVID-19, they will be immediately isolated from the group, and plans will be made to get them medical attention, testing, and removal from the workshop, and quarantine if needed. This could result in the termination of the workshop, solely at our discretion.
Understand that travel in the age of COVID is different, and there are risks of travel disruption involved. If at the end of a workshop in a foreign country, you test positive for COVID-19, you will likely not be allowed to travel back to the US or your home country. You will likely be required to quarantine in a hotel at your expense, until such time as you test negative or until a certain amount of time has passed. You should plan ahead for this possibility by making sure that you have enough prescription medications and personal items to last you through any possible quarantine situation.
There is excellent insurance available that covers you in this type of situation, and we strongly recommend that you purchase it. It is from COVAC Global.
