Oregon Coast Workshop

OREGON COAST WORKSHOP

Sandy beaches next to 500’ cliffs, tidal pools bursting with marine life, rocky beaches with crashing waves, old-growth rain forests, working lighthouses, small fishing towns with quaint harbors, and spectacular ocean sunsets!

Join Lou and Todd Nettelhorst for a five-day OREGON COAST photography workshop amidst these amazing photo opportunities!

The Oregon Coast stretches for over 360 miles and is a world-renowned destination for it’s unique and abundant coastline.   Lou and Todd’s Oregon Coast workshop will explore a portion of this coast that offers unparalleled opportunities for nature photography.  Photographers travel from around the world to capture images of the unique rugged coastline and bluffs with its dramatic sea stacks, the raw and powerful Pacific Ocean wave action, picturesque lighthouses and remote forests.

The workshop is based in Seaside and Tillamook, and will explore nearby areas such as the Cape Meares wildlife refuge and lighthouse, Oceanside Beach, Tillamook State Forest, Arcadia Beach, Cannon Beach, Fort Stevens SP and the Columbia River’s mouth, and Ecola SP.  The exact locations of the daily photo shoots will vary depending on local conditions, tides and sunrise/sunset times.  Lou and Todd will arrive before the workshop and scout the best locations to capture the magnificence of the area.

Lou and Todd’s workshop format and teaching style is “Inform, Practice, Feedback”.  This is a true photography workshop, not just a coastal photo tour.  This means that Lou and Todd will be working with you throughout the workshop to help you improve your photography skills.  They will provide you with as much, or as little, coaching as you desire.  Their thoughtful, gentle coaching style will encourage you to take your photography to the next level regardless of your starting point.  The daily feedback sessions will include all participants and the feedback, like the teaching, is constructive, instructive and inspiring.

Todd Nettelhorst has had a passion for photography and videography much of his life.  His path to becoming a professional photographer began while documenting the honesty of his children’s lives as others asked him to capture that same spirit for their families.  His un-posed, unplanned, spontaneous style of people and his magnificent nature photography makes his portfolio unique.  Todd uses his unique perspective to enable his students to see the “pictures within pictures.”
